The purpose of the Members Association is to foster the goals and purposes of Leadership Birmingham by:

  • sustaining, within each graduate, the momentum for progress generated during the class year;
  • continuing "networking" among participants;
  • informing and educating members about current issues and challenges facing the community;
  • and forming action-oriented task groups, using guidelines maintained by the office of Leadership Birmingham.

The Members Council is the governing body of the Members Association. The Council is composed of two members from each Leadership Birmingham class and they serve a three-year term. The Members Council officers include: President, Vice President, Program Chairperson, and Secretary/Treasurer. The Members Council meets three times a year, and determines the various programs and activities that will be offered during the year to the membership. The Members Council also approves the yearly operating budget for the Members Association. The Program Committee of the Members Council, under the direction of the Program Chairperson, meets several times a year to formulate educational programs and social events for approval by the Council. Member dues of $50 per year are used to support the programs and activities of the Members Association, including educational programs and social events, as well as the newsletter, directory, and website.
